Bath area Soup Kitchen

The Bath Area Food Bank operates it's Soup Kitchen out of First Baptist Church's lower level kitchen and vestry.

The Soup Kitchen serves on average 90-100 meals per day. It is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:00am to 12:00pm.

The volunteers who work there have been blessed with a desire and ability to cook and serve those who are in need. Local farmers donate fresh vegetables during the summer months, which is truly a blessing. There are also donations of breads from area markets. The workers could use more help with the cooking if there is anyone who could spare an hour or more per week. FMI, call the Bath Area Food Bank at: 443-7522

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13, 34

Missions:
First Baptist Church of Bath supports the Southern Baptist Convention and their Missionary efforts throughout America and the world.
Through the International Mission Board, Southern Baptists support 4,946 missionaries in 153 different countries. Your gifts and prayers resulted in 451,000 new believers baptized in 2000 outside of North America. Southern Baptist's support of CP Missions allowed the North American Mission Board to send out 5,081 missionaries last year and help start over 1,700 new churches. Approximately 415,000 people were baptized last year as a result of individual Southern Baptists becoming Partners in the Harvest.

Learn more about the missions efforts of the Southern Baptist Convention by visiting the individual mission organization websites.

Weddings and Recommitment of Marriage Vows

While First Baptist is not in the business of performing weddings, we offer this page to introduce folks to the requirements of being married at our church. Since a church wedding is one with God at its center, it is expected that those who come will either be a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ or seeking. During the counseling sessions which are mandatory Christ will be shared and it is hoped if one does not know Christ, God will make a way that they will have the opportunity to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. This ceremony includes two options which may be added to the traditional ceremony. One is the Rose Ceremony and the other is the Christ Candle Ceremony. There are other variations to the wedding ceremony that can be made to make it more personal for the couple being married.

Wedding Receptions & Anniversaries

Arrangements can be made to rent our lower level kitchen and vestry for your Wedding Reception or Anniversary gathering. Contact Dave Pecci by e-mail or phone at 442-8581 for more information. (Alcoholic beverages are not allowed and other restrictions may apply)
