THE CHURCH HISTORY OF FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF BATH, MAINE ~ "From 1789 there was occasional Baptist preaching in Bath by elders from other places. There were several members from the New Meadows side of the town in the Baptist Religious Society of Brunswick, Harpswell and Bath, incorporated in 1794. On October 30, 1810, a council of the Brunswick and Topsham churches met at the home of Elijah Low and voted to recognize the Bath Church, which at the time held its meetings in a schoolhouse on School St..
